Prom 2018 Trends to Watch

'Tis the season! Prom season that is. We are gearing up for the big event with new and unique formal wear styles that are sure to wow. Here are the top trends to watch as you prepare for prom this year.

High Neck Lines

This Sherri Hill gown (style #51876) captures the elegance of the high neck line trend perfectly. Not only is this a bold fashion statement, but also adds comfort and can add a touch of modesty to any gown. Bonus points for these styles that incorporate fun open back details!

Bright Colors

With a variety of vibrant neon colors, each designer will have a unique selection to choose from. This Jade color from La Femme, pictured in style #25540, is a new shade that we are excited to see this year.

Printed Skirts

These skirts in geometric patterns, florals, and other bold prints are everywhere this season and can be found in a variety of styles and silhouettes. This style, 51015, by Sherri Hill is one of our personal favorites.

Off the Shoulder

This neckline is extremely flattering and comes in a variety of different dress shapes and styles. This specific dress style, La Femme #25741, comes in both black and white and was inspired by the brand Free People.

We have each of these stunning gowns as well as other styles from their collections, and from additional designers. We can't wait to help you find your dream prom gown!

Winter Wonderland Wedding

It's full swing proposal season, but what about a winter wedding? It may be cold, and it may be unconventional, but it is guaranteed to be stunning and magical. From holiday weddings on Christmas or New Years Eve to snowy mountain getaway weddings, it's super simple to create a memorable, picture perfect wedding in the winter season.

No surprise here, but our favorite part of the wedding is the dress!! This Essense of Australia long sleeve dreamy lace dress fits a winter wedding perfectly in our opinion. It captures that romantic whimsical feeling so many winter weddings have and the moscato tulle stands out against the snow rather than blending right in.

Next big thing to create your perfect winter wedding? Venue. You can opt for a tent that displays the snowy landscape outside. What is a more beautiful decor than a soft white sheet of fresh snow as your backdrop? But maybe for the sake or warmth you go for a cozy lodge. What is more rustic chic than a mountain lodge in the winter time?

This may come as a surprise, but the winter flowers are some of the most beautiful especially when using darker colored flowers that contrast from the white backdrop so strikingly. These winter flowers are absolutely gorgeous and will make your bouquet extra special.

Now lets get into those nitty-gritty details. Winter time lends itself perfectly to the decor and details for a winter wedding.  Pine cones, evergreen sprigs, and holly are all beautiful natural accents to your ceremony, bouquet and reception tables. Colors like golds, browns and dark reds or green provide a warmer feel and look both luxurious and cozy. While cooler colors like silvers, greys and midnight blue are very striking and ethereal if that is the vibe you are going for.

There's nothing like a good wedding to brighten up a long winter season! Plus, with the natural beauty of snow covered mountains and evergreens, any wedding during the cold months is sure to be a magical winter wonderland. Romantic or ethereal, holiday or rustic, cozy or striking - you can have your dream wedding and more when you go for a stunning winter wedding!

We LOVE the idea of having a wedding in a big old barn. Barns scream country rustic and the wooden interior are the perfect backdrop for your wedding and all of your decor. String some lights up, maybe some canopies, throw in some flowers and you have yourself a chic barn wedding! Extra touches like the barrels pictured above just to that country vibe and you might be surprised how many common place items one might find around the ranch could double as the perfect touch to your rustic wedding!

Now for our favorite part...the dress! It's actually super easy to find the perfect dress to go with your favorite pair of cowgirl boots! Ruffles, lace, beading, you name it - most any style dress will go with those boots! Take the Valerie from Maggie Sottero (above), it's sweetheart scalloped neckline with the delicate lace all down the dress make this gown simple, stunning, feminine and very versatile!

How to Create the Perfect Atmosphere: Fall Wedding Edition

Hello to full force FALL!! We are loving the colder weather and the gently changing of the leaves and of course drooling over all the gorgeous fall weddings.

Our eyes are in awe over this picturesque lakeside kiss.  Boats, lakes, and docks are a great way to tie in an unconventional and unique feature to a fall wedding, especially with all the dazzling lakes Colorado has to offer. Not to mention the way the ruffles on the brides dress flow with the ripples of the lake.  (Photo: Pink Diamond Event, Dress: Wtoo)

Fall Trend Report

Off the Shoulder

We love seeing these bare shouldered gowns that show off the sleekness of the collarbone as a strapless dress would yet with some functionality of a sleeve. Dora Grace spotlights this in the Afton by Maggie Sottero.

Featured Straps

Unique backs have been hitting the bridal scene for a few seasons with lace illusion and button detals, however the strappy back we've been seeing in lingerie is about to make its way to the bridal world and open up the backs of many wedding dress styles. We love seeing this on style 6519 by Stella York.

Lattice Lines

"Modern Mesh" as some like to call it, this lattice design is ALL OVER our new gowns in both subtle and overt ways.  Mixed with lace you can see this come to life in style D2363 by Essense of Australia.

Metallic

For the bride who doesn't want the typical crystal beading but still wants that bridal "glam", the metallic trend will suit her taste.  The Nina by Wtoo is dripping with luxe style with dramatic sparkle, shimmering with every step.

Side Cut-Outs

The sexy side cutouts you've been seeing on the runway has made its way to bridal! We love how the cutouts are covered with lace detail on Style 6500 by Stella York giving you the best of both worlds with coverage but a seductive silhouette

Wondering if any of these new trends are for you?  Make an appointment today and see for yourself.  New dresses are arriving weekly!

Guide to Holiday Formal Wear 2016

The month of December is always such a magical time of year, and with holiday cheer in full effect you may find yourself on the hunt for a formal gown to wear to this years gala's, charity balls and holiday parties. But not to worry! Here is a short guide to help you shine at all of your events this season.

This silver-grey formal gown by Dave & Johnny is a definite show stopper. The halter neckline with a peek-a-boo detail is a trend that is sure to be seen everywhere this upcoming year. Not to mention, the stunning beading on the bodice will be sure to draw some stares. This Betsey Johnson shoe would be the perfect match to this gown!

http://www.thefrisky.com/photos/34-festive-holiday-manicures-that-arent-hideously-tacky/festive-holiday-nails1/

A gown with a ruched bodice is a great way to draw in detail if you are not wanting to go the beaded route. This specific gown has intricate ruched detail that would be extremely flattering on a range of body types. The evergreen color is perfect for all of your holiday needs! If you do choose a gown with a simpler pattern, or overall silhouette, a fun manicure can add some festive spirit to your ensemble!

This stunning Madison James gown would be the perfect ensemble if you've got some fabulous plans New Years Eve!

A fully beaded gown pairs perfectly with neutral footwear like this Sam Edelman Shoe!

We love the way this gown looks paired with rose gold tear drop earrings. The perfect way to play up both the gold and the silver detailing!

La Femme has done it again! We love the rich garnet color in this dress. This would be the perfect dress to wear to a variety of events- charity ball, holiday party, or even New Year's bash!

The best part of this dress is the beautiful detailing on the shoulders and neckline. Pair this unique neckline with an up-do like the one shown below. Not only will an up-do enhance the silhouette of the gown, but it will also ensure that you are able to dance the night away with ease!

http://trend2wear.com/perfectly-imperfect-messy-hair-updos-girls-medium-long-hair/?utm_content=bufferd6558&utm_medium=social&utm_source=pinterest.com&utm_campaign=buffer

Another big trend that we are seeing are different types of cutouts. We love this dress in particular because it is actually fully lined with nude fabric, which will give you a lot more flexibility with undergarments than a traditional dress with cutouts would. Pair your evening wear with a matching clutch like the Glint Beaded Minaudière and you are sure to make a statement at your holiday parties!

We look forward to helping you find your perfect formal gown for the holiday season!
