Top Questions to Ask at Your Bridal Appointment

Top Questions to Ask at Your Bridal Appointment

Whether you’re booking your first bridal appointment or you’ve tried on a few dresses already, walking in with a solid list of questions can make all the difference. After all, this is your moment, and the more prepared you are, the more empowered you’ll feel!

Here at Dora Grace Bridal, we believe that knowledge is power and we’re here to make the most of every second in that fitting room. Below are some of the most important questions to ask at any bridal appointment, and why asking them can lead you to the dress of your dreams.

1. What is the typical price range of your gowns?
Knowing the boutique’s price range upfront ensures you won’t fall in love with a gown that’s way outside your budget. It also helps your stylist pull options that align with what you’re comfortable spending.

2. How long will it take to order and receive my dress?
Wedding gowns aren’t off the rack like your everyday fashion - they often take several months to arrive once ordered. If you’re working with a shorter timeline, this question can help you explore rush order options or off-the-rack alternatives.

3. What should I bring (or wear) to my appointment?
Coming prepared with the right undergarments (like a strapless bra), nude underwear, and even your Pinterest inspo can save time and make the try-on process smoother and more enjoyable.

4. How many guests can I bring?
Some boutiques have seating limits to keep the experience intimate and manageable. Asking this question early can help avoid day-of surprises and keep your support squad streamlined.

5. What is your return, exchange, or cancellation policy?
Wedding dresses are typically final sale, but policies can vary. Asking this upfront will give you peace of mind before you commit.

6. Do you offer alterations or have seamstress recommendations?
Even the most perfect gown needs a few tweaks. Understanding what the boutique offers - or who they trust - will help you budget time and money for post-purchase tailoring.

7. Can this dress be customized?
Want to add sleeves, lower the back, or swap a zipper for a corset? Some designers offer customization, and some don’t. Knowing what’s possible will help you say “yes” with confidence.

8. What happens after I say yes?
Once the champagne has been popped, what’s next? A clear understanding of the next steps - like deposits, timelines, fittings, and accessories - sets you up for a smooth and stress-free journey to the altar.

A Few Quick Answers from Us at Dora Grace:
Here’s how we answer some of these questions at our boutique:

When should I start shopping? We recommend starting 9+ months out. Gowns take 4–6 months to arrive, plus time for alterations.

Can I bring champagne? We’ve got your celebration covered with a complimentary toast when you say yes to the dress! Outside alcohol isn’t permitted.

How many guests can I bring? Our private bridal suites seat 4 guests plus the bride. Want to invite more? Ask us about our Upgraded Bridal Packages.

What if I forget a strapless bra? Don’t worry - we’ve got extras at the boutique, but wearing your own is always helpful.
